Your guide to a successful application in Schleswig-Holstein 

  1. Job advertisement: Read the job advertisement carefully to identify the desired application type and the required documents. Be sure to note the application deadline.

  2. Cover letter: In your cover letter, you present yourself to the company and explain why you are interested in the job and how your qualifications match the position. Use examples from your professional experience to underline your strengths.

  3. Curriculum vitae: Your CV provides an overview of your personal and professional development. It contains information on personal details, professional experience, education, language skills and special abilities.

  4. References: Include your relevant credentials, such as graduation certificates and references from previous employers.

  5. Job interview: If your application is successful, you will usually be invited to an interview. Preparation is key for questions about your personality, motivation and skills.

  6. Employer’s decision: After the interview, you will receive an acceptance or rejection from the company. If you are accepted, an employment contract will be signed.

  7. Employment contract: Your employment contract should contain important information such as your name, address, start date, place of work, job description, salary, working hours, holidays and notice periods.
